Gig Review PDV & Zygnema @ Musicians Mall
PDV’s (Pin Drop Violence, a heavy metal outfit from Mumbai) out with their new album Right 2 Riot and they’re going the whole hog promoting it by doing several shows in and around Mumbai.
The last one was on 15th June and i missed it cos of my health… but this time even acidity couldnt stop my head from banging, because i so wanted to see this crazy band live… so what if the stage was as large as a slightly oversized dining table..
Zygnema were the support act and they set the mood for the evening, they performed some OC’s and covered Sepultura’s Territory and Pantera’s Revolution Is My Name.
I must give a special mention to their lead guitarist, Siddharth. He belted out some very good riffs and amazingly melodic solos on his Jackson Soloist. I only wish the vocalist would have done a better sound check, ’cause i was standing on the front row and couldnt quite listen to the vocals clearly.
Next came PDV and they did a good sound check. And what followed was an hour of utter madness. I’ll say this right now, PDV can kick some serious butt..They opened with their hugely popular In Dependence and followed with some more OC’s and a brilliant cover of Lamb Of God’s As The Palaces Burn. They had a planned setlist but they played what the crowd wanted… I was a first timer to PDV’s gigs (yes, yes i was in hibernation all these years..), and was amazed to see the crowd’s response to their OC’s. Believe me, EVERY PinHead sings!
The place was a music shop and moshing was a strict no-no… But the crowd forgot their constraints and moshed, the only thing you could possibly do when such music is played, everything else be damned! Thankfully, nothing broken.
After the gig, I tried out the Jackson RR3 and the Dean Dimebag ML!(anyone can try out the guitars, and there are many good ones on display at Musician’s Mall). Both were kickass and i’ll just say, i’m not qualified enough to talk about the merits of the 2 guitars..and whilst leaving, i also brought PDV’s CD and took the band members autographs. All of them are really funny and scribbled things like “Respect your parents”, “Dont get like us!”. The drummer drew a double bass drum kit as part of his signature…

pdv actually is a nice band but the shld hav done 2-3 more covers i felt that the gig was 2 short …
the hav excellent OC’s thr is no doubt abt it ..but thn also …
and a couple of mistakes by PDV drummer w

well first of all i wud like to thank PDV for playing wid us and to satish who has started this website..a very good exposer for up coming bands like us.
Thanx to all who were there for making this event kickass. more events will happen.PDV was kickass.. veeru and mithun kicked some serious ass..Pradeep and P-man charged up the crowd..wud love to share the stage again wid pdv..

Nice review…been a fan of zygnema since seeeing them at Palm EXpo….no surprise they created a mosh here too. I really wish i cud have been heer to se PDV play..i’ve never seen them perform live but they sound like a really tight band !!

That was a nice review dude !! indeed was an awesome gig and the whole vibe to it was amazing, people came to enjoy some good music and have fun and the bands had fun on stage !! cheers and hoping for more gigs at musician’s mall

the gig waz damn nice………zygnema waz really good n pdv waz awesome………..btw……zombie……i am d so called slut in d 2nd pic…….but tat depends on ur definition of a slut…….if u thnk wearin short skirts is slutty thn well……hehe….ur wrong kiddo…..uve much more 2 learn…..
