KFC… Bah!

Metalheads are a hungry lot alright, and they turn all the more hungry when you give them the idea that a KFC store is on the way home. (We were coming back after a session with our guitar teacher, Teemeer, in which I was sounded off for not getting my chord shifting right)I was desperate to try their brand of chicken, cos I was way too tempted seeing their ads on the idiot box…Trust me, you’ll go bonkers just seeing that ad. But, for me, that is where the excitement ends.

As soon as you walk into the place, it feels no different like a McDonalds outlet. Very similar setup, the counter, the kitchen and the way things go about. We ordered some stuff and got one huge bucket full of chicken wings, crispies and what not. It all sounds tempting, but trust me, it isnt.

When we finally sunk in, it was all loaded with the bones. I thought it’d be completely boneless, the way it is shown on telly. Nightmare, with all of us eating like dogs and putting up a brave face when some really tiny bone went inside, and we politely pulling it out. And taste wise it was nothing great either. We Indians are used to spicy stuff and comparitively it was rather tasteless.

The only things I liked were the Chicken Swirl or something to that effect, which was boneless, the potato chips and the 9 buck ice cream cone. To simply sum it up, the cheapest products were what we found the best.

I sincerely think KFC needs to Indianize a bit, just the way Pizza Hut, Dominos and the big Mc have done in order for them to boost their sales in India. As they say, when in Rome, do as the Romans do…
