Researchers have discovered a flaw within Apple’s iPhone SMS feature, an exploit that could allow a hacker access to your iPhone, disabling it and rendering it utterly useless. The exploit was publicized today at Black Hat cybersecurity conference in Las Vegas today.

Cybersecurity researchers Charlie Miller and Collin Mulliner discovered how they can disable any iPhone via a simple SMS. The exploit sent consumers into pandemonium, questioning if they should shut off their iPhone’s as of Thursday, when the exploit was demonstrated and documented to the public. The exploit shows up on the victims device as a single square character.

Nice, whilst I may not agree to all the points. Would love to see a similar comparison with Palm Pre iPhone & Nokia N97

@iPhoneIsGay
While I'd agree to all your points, I'd also point you to Apple's 3.0 update.
And also request you to take a look at its competition in this review.

Cheers.

@iPhoneISforNaiveMorons
You can see that I've the based the whole comparison on user experience. Yes, the iPhone does have its drawbacks but aren't most of them solved in the 3.0 update?

I have used all the 3 phones generously and much as I would love to see a non-Apple phone beat the crap out of the iPhone, sadly that was not the case.

And the Omnia HD is a doubtful contender to the iPhone simply because it runs on Windows Mobile. I'll definitely take a look if Samsung comes out with an Android version of the Omnia.

And I have mentioned in the close that I am NOT an Apple fanboy.

The iPhone does really look that good but it doesn't have the features that make it the winner. Come on man.

After reading everything you wrote it kinda gave me an impression that you really are an apple fanboy and a hypocrite for still letting apple win when all it really has over the Storm and the 5800 is that it looks good and has a very good and speedy interface. You didn't even mention whether you have the iPhone 2g or the 3g... Sheesh! For god's sakes man It's a overpriced 2g touchscreen phone with a crappy camera. (Were you talking about the iPhone 3g? - Still an overpriced phone that really doesn't have any bang into it)

The final verdict should have been:

The iPhone looks awesome and it's interface is really, really good - Hardware and feature wise the iPhone is as good as paper weight.

The Omnia HD can beat the crap out of the iPhone anytime. And the best part about this comment is I'm a Nokia 5800 user.
