Previewing the Palm Pre

by Satish on May 27, 2009

Here’s the mobile phone that can possibly give the iPhone a run for its money, as far as the hype around it goes. And also pull Palm right out of nowhere to the midst of every phone discussion.

Love it or hate it, everyone’s hoping that the Palm Pre lives up to the mountain of hype its created around itself. What I shall try to do in this post is provide you with videos, posts and news updates in the follow up to its launch. Subsequently we shall also follow up news on the GSM version of the Pre.

Hands on with the Palm Pre

Universal Search (via the Palm Pre Emulator)

Palm Apps Emulator

Yes, the Palm Pre allows you to tap into the 30,000 strong library of applications on the older Palm OS. Of course, they wont look very nice, but atleast you wont badly miss them till a WebOS replacement comes along.

Accessories

Palm hardly has any accessories ready for the Pre, but this one takes the cake. The ‘no cables’ charger looks neat and costs a neater $69.99

Pricing Details

The Pre is slated for release on 6th June for $199 with a Sprint contract. But without a contract, this thing is going to cost you northwards of $800, which is a terribly uncool price.

P.S. Apologies to readers for not being regular. My grad exams are on my hairline has receded by almost 0.8mm. Trust me, I’d rather be blogging!

Regular and juicy posts will commence from the 10th of June with a new fervour and insight.
